RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has restrained party leader and lawmaker Sher Afzal Marwat from appearing in court or entering Adiala Jail as Khan’s defense lawyer.

According to the details, Khan has informed the jail administration to prohibit Marwat from visiting him.

Earlier today, Sher Afzal reached Gate No. 5 of the facility to meet the PTI founder, who was denied entry. The jail administration informed the PTI MNA that Khan no longer recognised him as his legal representative and that he should not be allowed entry into jail.

According to the prison administration, the PTI founder was informed when Marwat reached Adiala Jail to meet him, adding that Imran Khan issued clear instructions that Marwat was not his lawyer.

Earlier, Sher Afzal Marwat has been served a show cause notice by the party’s Secretary-General Omar Ayub Khan over what the party terms as “irresponsible statements.”

In a formal communication issued on Saturday, the Secretary-General directed Marwat to submit his response for his statements against the party policy and has also been barred from representing the party in the media until he responds. The notice underscored that Marwat’s actions and words had strained relations with fellow party members and stakeholders.
