Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz announced that Karachi is expected to experience its next spell of monsoon rains after July 20.
Sarfaraz explained that the city is currently under the influence of a moisture-laden weather system, resulting in intermittent drizzle and light showers throughout the day.
“Sea breezes are expected to resume in the city starting tomorrow,” he noted.
Currently, Karachi’s temperature stands at 35 degrees Celsius, with a heat index feeling as high as 47 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature today is forecasted to reach 37 degrees Celsius, with a humidity level of 57%.
The weather will remain hot and humid over the next 24 hours.
According to the Air Quality Index, Karachi ranks as the 14th most polluted city in the world and the 4th most polluted city in Pakistan. The concentration of particulate matter in the air is recorded at 85 micrograms per cubic meter.
