The session court has issued a notice to K-Electric and others in response to the 500–600 civilians who perished in Karachi during the intense heatwave, according to an ARY News report.
According to details, an application was filed in the Sessions Court to charge K-Electric for the heatwave-related deaths.
The petitioner revealed that between 500 to 600 deaths occurred in Karachi last month during the heatwave, accusing K-Electric of ‘intentionally’ causing power outages lasting 10 to 16 hours.
The petition mentioned that the police refused to register a case against the electricity company.

The petition requested that SHO Preedy police station be directed to record the statement and register the case against K-Electric.
In response, the Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notices to the SSP Complaint Cell South, SHO Preedy police station, and K-Electric.
The Sessions Court has demanded a response by July 30.
