The Punjab government has announced a holiday for all private and public universities and colleges across the province on Friday, October 18.

The Higher Education Department issued a notification confirming that all educational institutions will remain closed tomorrow. This decision follows the imposition of Section 144 in the province.

Additionally, the Punjab government has enforced Section 144 throughout the province for two days. According to a notification from the Punjab Home Department, this restriction will be in effect from Friday, October 18, to Saturday, October 19.

During this period, all forms of protests, rallies, and similar activities are prohibited across Punjab.

The decision to implement Section 144 aims to maintain law and order and protect human lives and property. Given the security risks, any public gatherings could potentially become soft targets for terrorists. The Punjab Home Department has issued the notification regarding the enforcement of Section 144.
