ISLAMABAD: Security Forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the general area of Tirah in Khyber District on January 17, 2025, the military’s media wing said in a statement.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security personnel engaged Khwarji locations on their reported presence, as a result of which, five of them were killed.
The ISPR said that the Kharji ring leader Abidullah, also known as Turab, was sent to hell, while one Kharji was apprehended.
“Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area against the security forces as well as killing of innocent civilians,” the statement read.
Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, the ISPR said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on the night of 14/15 January 2025, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Spinwam, North Waziristan District on the reported presence of Khwarij. During the operation, security forces effectively engaged Khwarij’s location. After an intense exchange of fire, four Khwarij were killed, it stated.
