The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a case against Shahbaz Gill and Dr Moeed Pirzada for spreading anti-state propaganda.
FIR against Shahbaz Gill
FIR No. 19/2025 has been filed under Sections 9, 10, and 11 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016. Shahbaz Gill is accused of operating a TikTok account under the handle @shahbazgill04 and sharing videos that allegedly misrepresent information, incite unrest, and promote hatred among military personnel and the public.
According to the FIR, these videos make baseless allegations against Pakistan’s military leadership, accusing them of corruption and bribery. The FIR further states that such content could lead to divisions within the armed forces and harm the integrity of the state.
Authorities have also claimed that Shahbaz Gill’s actions aim to erode public trust in state institutions, foster hostility, and instigate hatred against the state. A comprehensive investigation into these allegations has been launched.
Dr Moeed Pirazada
According to details, the FIA’s Cybercrime Reporting Centre in Islamabad lodged an FIR against journalist Moeed Hassan Pirzada, son of Pirzada Ghulam Mohiuddin, on charges of spreading anti-state content. FIR No. 19/2025 was filed under Sections 9, 10, and 11 of the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016. Moeed Pirzada is accused of sharing videos through his TikTok account @pirzada497 that distort facts, incite unrest, and promote hatred between the public and the Pakistan Armed Forces.
The FIR states that these videos make baseless allegations against Pakistan’s military leadership, accusing them of corruption and bribery. It further mentions that such content could create divisions within the armed forces and harm the integrity of the state.
The FIR also alleges that Moeed Pirzada’s actions were intended to erode public trust in state institutions, foster animosity, and instigate hatred against the state. Considering the facts above, it was recommended that legal action be taken against the individual by the law.
