ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a public holiday for December 25, 2024, (Wednesday) on the occasion of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birth anniversary and Christmas.

According to the notification, all government offices and educational institutions will remain closed on this day.

Earlier, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) also said that the banks will remain closed on December 25 in observance of Quaid-e-Azam Day.

“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on December 25, 2024, being a public holiday on the occasions of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas, as declared by the Government of Pakistan,” the SBP statement said.

Pakistan will celebrate the birth anniversary of its founder, Quaid-e-Azam, with immense enthusiasm and respect.

In another notification, the government has also released the calendar of public and optional holidays for the year 2025. The public holiday schedule for 2025 covers national, Islamic, and minority festivals.

A notification issued by the Cabinet Division outlines the dates for holidays to be observed throughout the next year. As per the public holiday calendar, the first holiday will be on February 5, followed by Pakistan Day on March 23.
