At least one person died while several others sustained injuries in explosion which was reported near Jinnah International Airport on Sunday night.
The nature of the explosion is still being determined.

What caused the explosion?
According to sources, an oil tanker belonging to Pakistan Air Force exploded after a motorcycle carrying ammunition crashed into it near the airport.
Sindh’s interior minister, Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, confirmed that several vehicles are destroyed in a blast that occurred near airport as a convoy of foreign nationals passed through the area.
Civil Aviation Authority spokesperson said in a statement that the “blast/accident had taken place on Model Colony road near the airport while the airport’s building and assets were safe.”
He added that flight schedule was also going on as per routine.
“The airport administration has sent fire tender vehicles to the spot immediately while concerned institutions were investigating the reasons of the explosion/accident,” he statement said.
