ISLAMABAD: As there are less than 50 days left before Ramadan, astronomers have made important predictions regarding the start of the holy month and Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan.
The exact date will be determined based on the moon sighting, but it has been predicted that it will begin on the evening of either February 28 or March 1, 2025.
According to the details, if the moon is sighted on February 28, then the first Ramadan will be on March 1, otherwise, the first fast of Ramadan will be on March 2.
Similarly, astronomers have also made their predictions regarding Eid-ul-Fitr. The Eid-ul-Fitr moon is expected to be sighted on March 29 or 30.
If the moon is sighted on March 29, then Eid-ul-Fitr will be on March 30, and if the moon is sighted on March 30, then Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on March 31.
It should be noted that the final announcement of the sighting of the moon is always made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. The committee makes decisions regarding the sighting of the moon by keeping in mind the principles of Shariah and the testimonies of witnesses.
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is the month of mercy, forgiveness, and salvation for Muslims and everyone eagerly awaits its arrival. This month teaches spiritual worship, closeness to God, and service to humanity.
During this period, healthy adult Muslims are required to abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs from dawn until sunset.
