Former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa may face protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during his stay in London.
According to reports, the party’s representative in UK said that “a demonstration has been called at the Middle Temple in Central London to protest ex-CJP Isa’s participation and condemn the society for inviting him and elevating him in the Temple.”
What is ex-CJP Qazi Faez Isa doing in London?
Last week, the former top judge left Islamabad to attend a dinner by The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in London which will take place on Tuesday.
It is pertinent to mention that the former CJP Qazi Faez Isa is the first Pakistani judge to get elected as a bencher at the Middle Temple, a prestigious legal institution in UK.
He studied law at the Middle Temple and his father, Qazi Isa, was also a graduate of the Middle Temple.
The Middle Temple is one of four historic and esteemed legal institutions known as the Inns of Court in London. These institutions provide training to law students and grant licences for entry into the legal profession.
Earlier, a salesman in Pakistan misbehaved with the former CJP and his family. He passed extremely inappropriate words to the judge. The video soon went viral on social media.
Isa retired from the post of CJP on October 25.
