RAWALPINDI: Anti-Terrorism Court Rawalpindi on Friday ordered to release leader of the opposition Omar Ayub Khan and former law minister Raja Basharat.
Both PTI leaders were arrested by the Punjab Police from outside Adiala Jail yesterday after the ATC indicted them in a GHQ attack case.
The PTI leaders came to Adiala Jail for the hearing of the General Headquarters (GHQ) attack case in which they were indicted, including party founder Imran Khan.
Omar Ayub’s lawyer, Rana Mudassar, speaking to the media, said that Omar Ayub and Raja Basharat were taken into custody by the Adiala Jail checkpoint officials.
He also said that it is not yet known in which case they have been arrested.
PTI, in a post on the social media platform ‘X,’ strongly condemned the arrest of Ayub and Basharat.
On Wednesday, ATC rejected the acquittal plea filed by Omar Ayub Khan in the GHQ attack case.
