RAWALPINDI: A special court on Monday adjourned the hearing of the Toshakhana case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan until February 27 without any proceedings.
The court staff officially informed the parties that Special Judge Central, Shahrukh Arjumand had adjourned the hearing.
Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have been charged in multiple Toshakhana reference cases for retaining state gifts at lower prices from Toshakhana.
On December 12, the court indicted Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan during a hearing held at Adalia jail.
The court has so far recorded statements of eight witnesses while cross-examination of all of them has also been completed.
During the previous hearing, the lawyer for the PTI founder cross-examined the eighth witness. He had also filed a petition for an open trial instead of a jail trial.
The petitioner had also sought to halt the hearing until a decision was made on the request for an open trial.
The court has issued notices to the parties regarding the open trial plea.
The petitioner has made the superintendent of Adiala Jail, FIA, and the Punjab Home Department as respondents.
