WEB DESK: In line with the ongoing gas pressure crisis in the city, all the Compressed Natural Gas filling stations in Peshawar shall close until January 19.

This order came from the Deputy Commissioner of Peshawar based on a notice issued by Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), which prioritises providing gas to domestic consumers for this period of extreme cold through which the region is suffering.

The deputy commissioner said that high demand due to extreme winter is worsening the pressures supply lines must work with.

“It is required so that all households can have gas available at all times for heating and cooking throughout this period,” reads the statement from the DC office.

The closure is expected to ease the agony experienced by residents while providing homes with gas services without interruption throughout cold months.
