LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz announced the launch of the ‘Minorities Card’ from January while addressing a Christmas ceremony.
She highlighted her commitment to inclusivity, stating, “If the state is like a mother, then your Chief Minister is like your mother. There is no discrimination in my heart and mind; I am your Chief Minister, working tirelessly for you. Anyone who hurts you hurts me.”
She reassured the audience about their safety, promising a secure and harmonious Punjab. “You should not worry about anyone harming you or burning your home. You are a part of us, and we are a part of you. The Christian community has made significant contributions to Pakistan,” she added.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted her vision for a better Pakistan and Punjab, announcing a historic initiative. “For the first time in Pakistan’s history, we are introducing the Minorities Card. Widows from other faiths will receive substantial financial assistance every four months. The program will officially launch in January.”
During the event, the Chief Minister extended Christmas greetings and shared her gesture of goodwill by bringing 10,000 cakes for the attendees on just one night’s notice. She concluded the ceremony by cutting a Christmas cake, celebrating the spirit of unity and inclusivity.
