ISLAMABAD: The Crime Intelligence Agency (CIA) building of the capital police has been declared sub-jail to keep the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers who might be arrested during the party’s long march.

A notification issued by the Chief Commissioner’s office on Monday under Section 541 of the CrPC 1860, read with Section 3 of the Prison Act 1894, states that the capital police will be in charge of both the inmates and the jail’s security.

To control the PTI convoy moving towards the federal capital, Islamabad police have increased security. At 26 No Chungi, a sizable contingent of Punjab police and Rangers has been stationed, and prisoner vans are prepared to carry inmates.
