The Chinese government has initiated a scholarship programme for the academic year 2025-26.
Through the Chinese scholarship programme, Pakistani and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) students can study and research at Chinese universities.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has stated deadlines for the submission of applications online by December 09, 2024.
Eligibility and requirements
Applicants, whether citizens of Pakistan or of AJK, must fulfill specific eligibility criteria in terms of academic qualification and age limit. Those holding dual nationality are excluded.
- Undergraduate applicants must have completed 12 years of education and are younger than 25 years.
- A bachelor’s degree must be obtained by the applicants of the master’s program and should be under 35 years.
- Candidates seeking admission into PhD programs must have a master’s degree and should be under 40 years.

An authenticated HAT or USAT test score is mandatory and should not be lesser than 50 out of 100. HAT result from December 9, 2022, onwards, and USAT result from December 9, 2023, will be eligible.
Application and benefits
Candidates can apply online at the CSC (China Scholarship Council) portal, under Category A (agency code 5861) at CampusChina.org.
Tuition fees, administrative charges, insurance for health, and activities by students concerning the scholarship award are covered by the scholarships. Various aspects include accommodation free or a rental subsidisation and financial assistance at specific rates as per Chinese government regulation.
The scholarships are meant to further enhance educational cooperation between China and Pakistan. The submission of these scholarships is managed through HEC, which acts as the nominating agency.
