KARACHI: Cancer medicines valued at Rs360 million have been reported stolen from Karachi’s Civil Hospital, according to sources. The theft, involving 76,000 tablets, has led to an official police case filed by Medical Superintendent (MS) Syed Muhammad Khalid at Eidgah Police Station.
The First Information Report (FIR) lodged by MS Khalid alleges that two hospital employees, Niaz Ahmed Khaskheli and Iqbal Ahmed Channa, orchestrated the sale of the stolen medications with assistance from other staff members. The investigation revealed that between February 17 and September 19, 2023, the suspects sold at least 76,000 tablets of Albunox 50mg and Palbunox 125mg.
