WEB DESK: The federal government has presented a budget of Rs18.887 trillion for the fiscal year 2024-25 in the National Assembly, where minimum wages have been increased and pensions raised. Additionally, a piece of good news was also announced for the journalist fraternity.
The government has announced a health insurance scheme for the journalist community.
Furthermore, items like mobile phones, cement, property, textiles, and cigarettes have become expensive, while iron and scrap have become cheaper.

In addition, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb stated in his budget speech that when Shahbaz Sharif assumed the office of Prime Minister for the second time, he ordered the revival of health insurance for journalists and media workers thereafter. Today, I bring the good news of the revival of this scheme to my journalist brothers.
Furthermore, he said that in the first phase, health insurance will be provided to 5,000 journalists and media workers across the country, while in the second phase, they will provide this basic right of health to 10,000 journalists and media workers.
