ISLAMABAD: Principal Staff Officer (PSO) Bangladesh Army Lieutenant General S M Kamrul Hassan has expressed a profound interest in Pakistan’s sophisticated military hardware, notably the JF-17 Thunder fighter jets, the military’s media wing said in a statement.
Lt Gen Hassan showed interest during his meeting with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) at Air Headquarters Islamabad. A high-level defence delegation from Bangladesh was present during the meeting.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Hassan lauded the innovative projects, cutting-edge technologies, and indigenously developed technological framework of the Pakistan Air Force under the current leadership.
During the meeting, according to the ISPR statement, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu “reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the military partnership between the two Air Forces through joint training initiatives.”
The dignitaries also agreed to explore avenues of collaboration in order including exchange initiatives and joint training.
The meeting between the Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, and the Bangladeshi defence delegation signifies a resolute commitment to reinforcing military partnership, fostering collaboration, and promoting robust relations between the two countries, the statement read.
Earlier on Tuesday, the PSO of the Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh Lieutenant General Kamrul Hassan called on Pakistan’s Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Chairman General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and Army Chief General Asim Munir.
According to the ISPR, in a meeting with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, they discussed strategic issues of mutual interest and explored opportunities to enhance defense cooperation between the two countries during the meeting.
