On May 9 riots

Talking about the convicts in military courts related to the May 9 cases, DG ISPR said, “May 9 is not the case of the Pakistan Army, but the case of the people of Pakistan.

He said that they were creating a narrative that the army itself carried out the attacks. Their narrative was that the agencies’ personnel were responsible for the events of May 9. If we punish our people, the agitators should be pleased. The Anti-Terrorism Court should also bring the cases related to May 9 to justice.

On Military courts

DG ISPR said that those who are criticising military courts today used to sing the praises of military courts in the past.

“Youth are our asset, some people poison the minds of the youth for their politics,” the DG ISPR said. He welcomed the talks between the government and the opposition.

The Pakistani army has an official and professional relationship with every government, so it is not appropriate to give this relationship a political colour.

He said that the anarchists alleged that the army conducted the May 9 false flag operation through agencies. Now we have given punishments, why should they be given punishments in military courts.

The process of accountability will not stop without bringing the masterminds of May 9 to justice. Some people in the lust for power have crossed the limits of hypocrisy, he added.
