The federal government has issued a notification for the deployment of military personnel in the capital city to ensure security during the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

According to the notification, the military will take charge of security duties under Article 245, and their deployment will last until October 17, coinciding with the conclusion of the summit. The army will lead the security operations in Islamabad, with assistance from the police and other relevant agencies.

The SCO summit is scheduled to take place on October 15 and 16, where heads of state and representatives from several countries are expected to participate. This high-profile event highlights Pakistan’s role in international diplomacy and security cooperation within the region.
