PESHAWAR: A sixth case of Monkeypox has been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Lakki Marwat district, health adviser Ihtesham Ali confirmed on Saturday.
A 35-year-old man from Kot Kashmir Union Council in Lakki Marwat tested positive after arriving in Pakistan from Dubai on flight number PK-284 from where he was sent directly to Khyber Teaching Hospital for examination.
The patient landed at the airport at 9:30 pm on November 28, a health official said. Samples were taken from the suspected patient and sent to the Public Health Reference Laboratory for testing.
“There is currently only one active case of Mpox in the province. This year, six cases have been reported from across the province,” health advisor to KP government said, adding that five patients have recovered.
