WEB DESK: Umerkot, Sindh is reeling after a horrific discovery – a female camel was found dead near the Morjhango turn with all four legs severed. This incident comes just weeks after a similar case of animal cruelty sparked outrage in Sanghar.

The deceased camel’s owner, Rashid, revealed that the animal had been unwell and went grazing alone the prior day. However, the camel was later found lifeless in the middle of the road, its body bearing signs of torture and all four legs barbarously amputated.

Shaken by the discovery, Rashid refrained from making accusations until more details come to light. He recounted, “I have a herd of camels, but this one didn’t return with the others yesterday. I have no idea who chased her, beat her, and inflicted such cruelty. We’ll see what course of action to take next.”

This incident follows a disturbing video that went viral just before Eid-ul-Adha, showcasing a female camel being tortured in Sanghar district’s Mund Jamrao village. The camel’s owner, Somber Khan, expressed his utter shock and confusion at the press conference, stating, “I have no enemies. Why would someone do this to my camel?”

The brutal act against camels in both Umerkot and Sanghar has ignited public outcry. These incidents highlight the urgent need for stricter animal welfare laws and their forceful enforcement to prevent such barbarity against defenseless creatures.
