ISLAMABAD: Anchorperson Shahzeb Khanzada has claimed that the Al-Qadir University, a project in which Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are facing trial, has proven to be a complete failure.

During his television show Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath, the journalist said that questions regarding Al-Qadir University’s legality were also raised within Imran Khan’s government itself.

The verdict in the £190 million case, aka Al Qadir Trust case, will be announced on Friday (tomorrow) after the three-time delay, in which Khanzada claimed that Khan may face 14 years in prison.

The court reserved its verdict on December 18, 2024. The £190 million corruption case verdict, originally scheduled for December 23, 2024, was delayed twice before being rescheduled for January 13, 2025.

Senior journalist Shahzeb Khanzada said that Al-Qadir University does not have the authority to issue degrees as the Higher Education Department of Punjab has not yet recognized the university.

In the last 4 years, only 200 students have been admitted to this university, he said. Al-Qadir College admitted 41 students in the first year and only 60 in the second year.

The director of Al-Qadir University Dr. Muhammad Amjad-ur-Rehman has said that the institution does not have the authority to issue degrees and it is still Al-Qadir College and has not been granted university status.

Al-Qadir University has to obtain an annual affiliation certificate from the Government College University every year.
