In an interesting finding, 4 out of every 5 Pakistanis have an arranged marriage.
According to a Gallup survey, married adult men and women from across the country were asked the question, “Was your marriage arranged by your parents, or was it by your own choice, i.e., a love marriage?”
In response, 81 per cent of the participants indicated that their marriage was arranged by their parents, while 18 per cent said their marriage was a love marriage. Additionally, 1 per cent chose not to respond.

The survey findings also revealed that men were 8 per cent more likely than women to have a love marriage.
Furthermore, the results showed that adults under the age of 30 had the highest rate of love marriages among the three age groups surveyed.
