KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, along with Pakistani American doctors, laid the foundation stone of the 312-bed Hassan Suleman Memorial Hospital (HSMH) in Ibrahim Hyderi area of Karachi’s Malir District.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, the chief minister highlighted that the new health facility will be built in collaboration with Pakistani American doctors and will serve as a powerful testament to philanthropy and international cooperation.
Furthermore, he added that the HSMH will be completed within two years, with patient care set to start in 2026. Free-of-cost facilities including emergency care, cardiac surgery, pediatrics, women’s health, and trauma care will be provided.
Speaking at the ceremony, Murad Ali Shah said the project will be a step ahead towards the provision of health facilities to people. He emphasized his government’s commitment to supporting the hospital’s development and ensuring its operational success through infrastructure, policy, and operational assistance.
Dr Javed Suleman, Chairman of the Hassan Suleman Foundation, expressed deep gratitude to both President Asif Ali Zardari and CM Murad Ali Shah for their unwavering support. Speaking at the ceremony, he acknowledged President Zardari’s vision and the Sindh government’s land allocation and financial commitment.
“The hospital’s mission is to provide free, high-quality medical services to those in need, stating that the hospital represents not just healthcare but a heart for the people,” chairman HSMH empahsised.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by provincial ministers Sharjeel Memon, Sardar Shah, Jam Khan Shoro, Shahid Thahim, Riaz Shah Shirazi, Advisor Najmi Alam, and others.
