According the federal government’s official holiday list for the current year, a public holiday will be observed across Pakistan on September 16 in observance of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH), which falls on 12 Rabiul Awwal.
The government has designated 12 Rabiul Awwal as a public holiday in its 2024 calendar. According to the official circular, Eid Miladun Nabi will be observed on September 16, 2024.
However, the final decision will depend on the moon sighting for the new Islamic month. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, September 4.

If the moon is sighted on September 4, the first of Rabiul Awwal will be on September 5, with 12 Rabiul Awwal observed on September 16.
Eid Miladun Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), is observed annually on 12 Rabi ul Awwal. Streets across the country are adorned with decorations to celebrate the day with religious zeal and fervor.
In major cities, several processions are held, with participants waving flags and chanting slogans to express their devotion to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
