By WEB DESK: The first phase of the 5G launch in Pakistan has commenced. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued Terms of Reference (TOR) and invited expressions of interest to hire an international consultant.
Moreover, the international consultant will prepare a report by consulting with industry stakeholders and telecom operators regarding the 5G launch in Pakistan.

Furthermore, the consultant’s duties will include developing a mechanism for spectrum release in line with global standards, determining the price of the spectrum per megahertz in both rupees and dollars and designing an easy payment plan for the spectrum auction.
The international consultant will provide policy recommendations to the PTA for the spectrum auction, and the government will conduct the 5G spectrum auction based on these recommendations.
