Pakistan Dismisses U.S. Report on Human Rights Issues

Pakistan has strongly rebuffed the recent report by the U.S. State Department concerning human rights violations within its borders.

The document, titled “2023 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices: Pakistan,” has been labeled by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry as politically biased and criticized for disregarding crucial global human rights issues, notably in Gaza.

The ministry denounced the report’s lack of accuracy and objectivity, asserting that it undermines the integrity of international human rights discourse by exhibiting double standards.

Released on April 22, the U.S. report alleges persistent human rights challenges in Pakistan, including government actions against dissenters abroad and implicit approval of enforced disappearances.
