Pakistan have made it to the final of the ongoing Hong Kong Sixes tournament after defeating Australia by four wickets in the first semi finals match at Mong Kok on Sunday. The final will be played later today at Mission Road Ground.

Pakistan captain Faheem Ashraf won the toss and put Australia in to bat first. Australia posted 107 runs in their 6 overs.

Opening batters Sam Heazlett and Jack Wood gave Australia a solid start with a dominant 56-run partnership. Faheem Ashraf broke through in the fourth over, clean-bowling Wood for 36 off 17 balls, which included four fours and two sixes.

At No. 3, Dan Christian wasted no time, hitting an aggressive 42 off just 10 balls, making him Australia’s top scorer.

Faheem Ashraf took Pakistan’s only wicket.

Chasing a 108-run target in allocated six overs, Pakistan managed to achieve the target on the second-to-last ball.

Chasing a challenging target, Pakistan began aggressively, with Asif Ali scored 32 off 8 balls and Muhammad Akhlaq contributed 32 off 10. Faheem Ashraf added 19, and Aamer Yamin scored 24. Pakistan achieved the target on the second-to-last ball.

Andrew Fekete and Fawad Khan took one wicket each for Australia.

It shoud be noted that Pakistan remains unbeaten in the tournament and has won all four matches, first defeating UAE, then arch-rivals India and then South Africa.

Earlier today, the Pakistan cricket selectors announced the starting XI for the first ODI of the three-match series against Australia, starting from tomorrow (November 4).
