Helen Mary Roberts has made history by becoming the first Christian woman to achieve the rank of brigadier in the Pakistan Army.
Helen Mary Roberts’ promotion to brigadier in the Pakistan Army Medical Corps is celebrated as a recognition of her dedication and marks a historic milestone.
This is a big milestone as she’s the first female officer from a minority community to reach the rank of brigadier in the 76-year history of the Pakistan Army.
It should be noted that Helen Mary Roberts is among the many Christian community members who have been defending the country for decades. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the newly promoted brigadier.

“Brig. Helen Mary Roberts has proven through her hard work that Pakistani women are no less than men in any field,” the prime minister said.
He added that the “entire nation, including the Pakistani Christian community, is proud of Brig. Helen Mary Roberts and thousands of other hardworking women from the minority community.”
Chief of Army Staff Gen Asim Munir recently lauded the contributions of Christians to Pakistan’s development and their vital role in defending the nation.
The army chief expressed deep respect for the Christian community and underscored the need to promote interfaith harmony to achieve Quaid’s vision of a united and progressive Pakistan.
