Australia registered a huge win against visitors Pakistan in the third and final T20I match of the series here at Bellerive Oval on Monday.
Marcus Stoinis has made a mockery of this chase as Australia romps to victory with 50 balls to spare. He made 61 on just 27 to play his part beat Pakistan by seven wickets and seal the whitewash.
With a very gettable target of 118 set before them, Australia achieved this target in a mere 11.2 overs and lost only three wickets.
The Australians made a slow start with both openers Jake Fraser-McGurk (2) and Matthew Short (18) back in the shed inside the first four overs leaving the score at 30 for 2.
Skipper Josh Inglis then joined Stoinis in a vigorous stand of 55 runs for the third wicket before the latter was the next man out in the tenth over. Inglis scored 27 runs off 24 balls with four fours to his name.
As soon as Inglis was dismissed, Stoinis accelerated the pace of play bringing up the win in style. He was eventually left stranded on 67 runs wild from just 27 deliveries which included five sixes and the same number of fours marking his fifth T20I fifty.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Jahandad Khan and Abbas Afridi managed to pick one wicket each.
Earli batting first, the Men in Green were bowled out for just 117 in the final match of the T20 series. Babar Azam remained the top scorer for Pakistan with 41 runs.
Pakistan took a steady start and lost Sahibzada Farhan in the second over who scored just nine off seven. Babar and Haseebullah Khan registered an anchoring 44-run partnership for the second wicket.
Pakistan were flying at 58 for 1 at the end of the powerplay. But they lost 9 for 56 in just 69 deliveries to give Australia every chance of completing a series whitewash.
Aaron Hardie picked up career-best T20 figures of 3 for 21, while Zampa picked two, Haseebullah and Babar. Spencer Johnson, Xavier Bartlett, and Nathan Ellis all got among the wickets, with Stoinis the only Australian bowler to not claim one today. Join Danyal in a bit for the start of the chase
