Host-cum-actress Nadia Khan has revealed that she was a target of organised online trolling, allegedly involving paid campaigns to criticise her shows, particularly during Ramazan.
Speaking on the talk show Hasna Mana Hai, Khan discussed the challenges she faced with concentrated online negativity aimed at her programmes. Host Tabish Hashmi questioned her about the recent backlash surrounding her Ramazan show, noting how some controversies appeared forced, with persistent questions about her style of interviewing guests.
In response, Khan highlighted the evolving dynamics of social media criticism, stating, “If this had happened a few years ago, it wouldn’t have been an issue. But now, there’s a new model of policing on social media, with people working against each other’s shows.” She described how social media users often allege that people are being paid to troll new programs as they air.

Nadia Khan further explained the industry pressures she encountered from rivals, saying, “I was advised to counter the negativity by spending money on similar tactics, but I refused to invest in such nonsense. I decided to ignore it, but this is a reality. A new trend is emerging, and if a show gains traction, competing channels feel threatened and resort to spending money to generate viral content against it.”
Khan’s remarks spotlight the rising influence of orchestrated trolling campaigns in Pakistan’s entertainment industry and the intense competition surrounding high-profile shows.
