The Punjab government’s much-awaited relief on electricity bills, promising up to Rs14 per unit for consumers, has left many disappointed as the benefit was only extended to those using single-phase meters.
According to reports, officials from the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) confirmed that the relief, initially announced for consumers using up to 500 units, was exclusively applied to single-phase meter holders.

Those with three-phase meters, despite expecting the same reduction, have been left out. Sources within LESCO stated that while the original directive from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz aimed to provide relief to all users, a subsequent decision from the ministry restricted the relief to single-phase users only.
As a result, many consumers with three-phase meters did not see the promised Rs14 per unit reduction in their latest bills.
This unexpected exclusion has led to frustration among affected consumers, who have been visiting LESCO offices seeking clarification and support. However, many have reported receiving no clear answers regarding the disparity in relief distribution.
