The Sindh Excise Department has started a new service to deliver vehicle number plates directly to people’s homes.

During a meeting led by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, it was decided to open special offices for issuing premium number plates.

Furthermore, a motor registration office will be set up in Karachi’s District South, which will also stay open in the evenings to help the public.

Minister Sharjeel Memon, who manages several departments including transport, mass transit, excise, taxation, and narcotics control, praised the positive feedback from the first phase of premium number plate issuance.

He also announced that the second phase of the premium number plate auction will begin soon. To make things easier for people, the registration process will be simplified.

“Our main job is to provide the best services to the public,” Memon said. “We want to run the Excise Department efficiently and conveniently for everyone.”

Last week, the Excise Department auctioned the premium number plate (A 1) for Rs100 million, with Muzammil Kareem Paracha making the highest bid. Another premium number plate, 786, was sold for Rs26.5 million, with Sarosh, a businessman, placing the highest bid.
