WEB DESK: In a recent development, investigation officer Loung Khan Shar informed the local court in Nawabshah that police found no evidence implicating landlord Ghulam Rasool Shar in the gruesome Sanghar camel mutilation case.
However, the judicial magistrate extended the remand of six suspects allegedly involved in the incident.
The brutal event occurred on June 15 near Mund Jamrao in Sanghar district when a feudal lord and his accomplices reportedly tortured an eight-month-old female camel and severed its leg with a sharp tool after it wandered into his field.
The camel’s owner, Somerbhan, staged a protest at the Press Club Sanghar, holding the amputated leg as evidence of the inhumane act.

Despite the outcry, Sanghar police initially failed to take action against the influential feudal lord, instead filing a case against unknown persons at the Mangali police station.
The public outcry forced police to arrest six suspects: Rustam Shar, Abid Shar, Jaffar Jatt, Abdul Shakoor Shar, Gul Baig Lashari, and Darya Khan Shar.
Charges against the suspects include Sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 147 (punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
The injured camel was later transferred to the Comprehensive Disaster Management Services animal shelter in Malir, Karachi. A non-governmental organisation (NGO) is arranging a prosthetic leg for the animal.
