The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced a significant increase in toll taxes, set to take effect from October 1, 2024.

The move comes as part of efforts to improve infrastructure and maintain national highways across the country.

Under the new toll structure, the charge for cars traveling on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway will rise from 350 PKR to 460 PKR. Meanwhile, tolls for vans will increase from 550 PKR to 720 PKR, and for buses, the toll will jump from 1,000 PKR to 1,300 PKR.

Trucks will see an increase from 1,500 PKR to 1,950 PKR. This increase will also apply to several other major routes, including the Lahore-Abdul Hakim M-3 and various sections of the M-4 and M-5 motorways.

On national highways, the toll for cars will rise from 40 PKR to 50 PKR, while vans will be charged 90 PKR, and buses will incur a toll of 170 PKR. Two and three-axle trucks will pay a toll of 210 PKR, and articulated trucks will face a new toll of 460 PKR on national highways.

The NHA has also announced increases at toll plazas located in the Kohat Tunnel N-55, Islamabad-Murree-Kohala Highway N-75, and Mianwali-Muzaffargarh N-135, as part of this comprehensive toll adjustment plan.
