Nanbai Association Announces Shutter-down Strike in Two Provinces

The All Pakistan Nanbai Association has once again announced shutter-down against the decrease in the price of roti and naan.

According to details, the nanbai association will observe a shutter-down strike in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on May 8.

During a press conference, Pakistan Naanbai Association’s Central President, Shafiq Qureshi, highlighted that the authorities had issued an order to reduce the price of roti and naan a day after Eid. Qureshi threatened to observe a shutter-down strike across the country if they don’t get justice from the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

He expressed the nanbais’ willingness to provide relief to the public but urged the government to address their concerns. It is pertinent to mention that the nanbai association has been at loggerheads with the government over the reduction in price.

Last month, both the provincial governments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) had slashed the price of roti and naan. Later, the district administration of Islamabad also ordered nanbais to reduce the price but the order was suspended by the Islamabad High Court.
