The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to convene in Quetta on Saturday to sight the crescent moon for the start of Muharram 1446 Hijri. However, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has suggested that it is improbable the moon will be visible tomorrow.

Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the moon-sighting committee, will preside over the meeting to officially commence the first month of the Islamic calendar.

At the same time, meetings of the zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will be held at their designated venues.
