In Lahore, authorities have temporarily closed Motorway M-3 from Lahore to Darkhana due to dense fog and worsening smog levels.
According to the motorway spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed, the decision to shut down the motorway is part of an ongoing effort to manage travel risks during adverse weather conditions. Drivers are being advised to monitor updates and follow alternative routes, as the motorway will remain closed until conditions improve.
Several sections of motorways across Punjab were also closed on Saturday due to thick smog. The M-2 motorway from Lahore to Kot Sarwar, the Lahore-Sialkot motorway, and the M-4 from Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakim are all closed due to heavy fog and smog, according to sources.
This step was taken to ensure the safety of travelers, as visibility dropped to dangerously low levels on this route.
