WEB DESK: On May 10, left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir is set to join the Pakistan cricket team in Dublin for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Ireland.
According to Geo News report, Amir has obtained his visa after facing initial delays, ensuring his participation in the crucial series.
Due to Mohammad Amir’s visa processing delay he had initially prevented, from travelling with the rest of the team to Ireland on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi took immediate action to ensure that Amir got clearance to travel to Ireland.
The PCB remained actively involved in resolving Amir’s visa concerns, engaging in discussions with Cricket Ireland to facilitate the process. Despite all players, including Amir, submitting their visa applications immediately after the Kakul camp, apprehension grew at PCB headquarters when Amir’s visa approval was delayed.

The cricketing journey of Mohammad Amir has been marked by highs and lows, notably his suspension from international cricket for five years by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2010 due to his involvement in a spot-fixing scandal alongside Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt. He also served part of a custodial sentence in young offenders institutes in Feltham and Dorset.
However, the left-arm bowler made a remarkable comeback in 2016, playing a pivotal role in Pakistan’s victory at the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, where they defeated arch-rivals India in the final by a massive 180-run margin. Amir’s sensational spell in the final, which saw him dismiss key Indian batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Virat Kohli, remains etched in cricketing memory.
