Men in green hit intensive training camp for ICC T20 World Cup

WEB DESK: Pakistani cricketers have been engaged in a rigorous fitness camp at the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT), participating in various training routines and gym exercises.
According to media reports, the camp, attended by 29 players, kicked off on March 26 and is slated to conclude on April 8, with the primary objective of readying the national cricket team for upcoming bilateral series and the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup.
As the camp progresses, the training intensity has been ramping up. Following an initial two-kilometer run earlier in the week, trainers upped the ante with an eight-kilometer run for players on Thursday.
As per the reports, Babar Azam wasted no time upon arrival at the camp, immediately undergoing a fitness evaluation at the Kakul Academy after the Thursday evening training session.
However, some players were sidelined from the fitness run due to injury concerns. Imad Wasim opted for lighter training and gym workouts as a preventive measure against potential injuries. Meanwhile, Fakhar Zaman, Sahibzada Farhan, and Haris Rauf, still in the recovery phase from injuries, focused on gym exercises.
In between training sessions, players also indulged in recreational activities, including badminton. Teams were formed, with Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Haris joining forces against Naseem Shah and Abbas Afridi for some friendly competition.
Among the players attending the camp are Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Sahibzada Farhan, Haseebullah, Saud Shakeel, Usman Khan, Mohammad Haris, Salman Ali Agha, Azam Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Irfan Khan Niazi, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Usama Mir, Mohammad Nawaz, Mehran Mumtaz, Abrar Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Ali, Zaman Khan, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Aamir Jamal, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Amir.
