A meeting of Pakistan’s Federal Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, ended without a decision on the proposed 26th Constitutional Amendment. The session, held at the Prime Minister’s chamber in Parliament, has been rescheduled for 6:00 PM today.
During the meeting, all federal ministers, along with Attorney General Mansoor Usman, convened to discuss the draft amendment. Despite thorough deliberations, no final decision was reached. Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar stated that the cabinet would reconvene to finalise the amendment bill, noting that minor changes would be made before approval.

The meeting included a briefing by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on recent political activities. Key figures present at the session included Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Initially scheduled for 9:30 AM, the meeting faced several delays throughout the day, first postponed to 11:00 AM, then 12:30 PM, and later to 2:00 PM before being ultimately rescheduled for today. The draft was finalised by a parliamentary committee that involved contributions from political leaders, including Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and has been under discussion for the past four weeks.
