The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced that students intending to study MBBS abroad must achieve a minimum score of 50 percent on the MDCAT exam.
The notification mandates that doctors seeking to study MBBS or MD programs overseas must achieve at least 50 percent in the MDCAT exam before proceeding.

Earlier, the council announced a major increase in the entrance test fees for MBBS and BDS programs. The fee for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) has been increased from Rs6,000 to Rs8,000.
This year, over 200,000 candidates are anticipated to sit for the MDCAT. With the new fee structure, the PMDC is expected to collect more than Rs1.6 billion from domestic registrations. For international students, the registration fee is set at Rs40,000.
