Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman highlighted that constitutional amendments should be passed with consensus and based on national interest, not personal benefits.

Moreover, speaking to senior journalists in Islamabad, he expressed support for establishing a constitutional court but opposed amendments for individual benefit.

In addition, referring to past judicial struggles, he noted the disappointment following former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry’s actions despite widespread support.

Furthermore, he reiterated that any extensions of service terms should be grounded in necessity, not vested interests. Rehman also mentioned that during his meeting, Shehbaz Sharif only requested his political support.
