In a major development for the local auto industry, Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) has reportedly decided to launch its first pure electric vehicle brand in Pakistan, named Deepal. The lineup is expected to include the S07 SUV and L07 Sedan model.
According to Business Recorder, citing a senior official, the company is considering the launch of an electric vehicle. However, the company has neither officially confirmed or denied the rumours.
As part of the Vast Ocean Plan, the parent company, has rolled out three distinct electric vehicle brands to cater to diverse customer needs – Avatr, Deepal, and Nevo.
Talking to the media outlet, MCML Director Sales and Marketing Syed Shabbiruddin stated that the company plans to introduce one of these brands of pure electric vehicles in Pakistan soon.
Business Recorder, citing a source privy to the matter, reported that Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) is in the final stages of launching the Deepal S07, a mid-size crossover SUV, and the Deepal L07, a fastback sports sedan.

The MCML official told the media out that all Changan electric vehicles will come with a home charger. According to him, homes equipped with solar panels would generate zero carbon emissions while running these EVs.
Shabbiruddin revealed the company’s plans of collaborating and investing in the entire value chain, including the establishment of charging infrastructure nationwide.
