Prices for essential items like coffee, baby milk, black pepper, and powdered milk have significantly risen following heavy taxes introduced in the federal budget, according to a report by a private news channel on Monday.

Coffee prices have increased by Rs100 to Rs500 per pack. The cost of a one-kilogram packet of powdered milk has risen from Rs1,850 to Rs2,150.

The price of a black pepper packet has doubled, now costing Rs2,800 compared to the previous Rs1,400. Additionally, an 18 percent GST on baby milk has led to the price of an 800-gram lactogen packet increasing by Rs410, from Rs2,200 to Rs2,610.
