By A man and his nine-year-old niece drowned while swimming in the Indus River near the Hussainabad embankment on Sunday.
According to police, four family members from Karachi drowned in the river, but local divers rescued two of them. However, 55-year-old Yaqoob Ahmed and his nine-year-old niece Maryam were found dead.

The family, living in Korangi, Karachi, was visiting relatives in Hussainabad. They went to the embankment for a picnic and were wading in shallow waters when a sudden current swept them away.
The bodies were handed over to the family.
