Malik Riaz is set to launch Pakistan’s largest digital platform

ISLAMABAD: Business tycoon Malik Riaz reveals a calculated attempt to challenge the establishment and government amid what he perceives as political persecution and repression of his ventures.

NAB Investigation

Journalist Naveed Siddiqui, in an interview with Azaad Urdu, discussed the recent National Accountability Bureau (NAB) focus on Malik Riaz’s offices regarding a 190 million pound case. Various entities, such as the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and investigative agencies, are conducting probes against him.

Contingency Strategy

In response, Malik Riaz has formulated a contingency strategy, referred to as Plan B, which includes launching a “Media War.”

Initial Tactics

Initially, Malik Riaz offered incentives to TV channel owners, journalists, and anchors. He provided plots and financial rewards to dissuade them from criticizing him. For these journalists, Bahria Town’s name became a “sacred cow.”

Digital Media House

Now, efforts are underway to construct an anti-establishment and anti-government narrative. To achieve this, preparations are being made to establish a Digital Media House. This hub aims to surpass the influence of existing mainstream media outlets, news channels, and print media.

New Media Hub

According to Naveed, this media house will be the father and grandfather of Pakistan’s mainstream media. The company, named Pulse Digital, will be registered in Dubai. Some prominent journalists, close friends of Malik Riaz, will run the company.

Leading Anchors Involved

Pakistan’s leading 5 or 6 anchors will spearhead the initiative. They will set up lucrative offices in major cities like Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore, offering substantial salaries to reporters.

Shifting Narratives

Previously, TV channels and people avoided discussing Malik Riaz and the raid on Bahria’s office due to pressure. Now, such digital media will operate outside Pakistan’s jurisdiction. The government will not be able to regulate it because it is registered in Dubai. It will operate there, beyond local control.
