Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is being sold at Rs280 and Rs300 per kilogramme in various cities, with winter season approaching.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has set the official price of LPG at RS251.30 per kilogramme.
However, according to Irfan Khokhar, the chairman of the LPG Association, LPG is not available at these government-mandated rates.
“Due to the high price fluctuations of LPG, both consumers and small vendors are upset,” he added.
The chairman of the LPG association said, “The distributors and importers are charging excessive prices, which is further intensifying the situation.”
He further said, “Action should be taken to control LPG black market activities, and OGRA and other relevant authorities must take action against those engaging in black marketing.”
